LOROS are well underway with plans for their Rocket Round Leicester art trail in summer 2021. Now they’re looking for artists to work with on the special designs.
Blasting its way across the city for 10 weeks in summer 2021, Rocket Round Leicester will bring Leicester to life by an out of this world trail of giant and spectacular Rocket sculptures! The Rockets will form a stunning, free art trail through the city’s streets and open spaces, bringing together the community for an unforgettable event.
LOROS are now looking for inspiring and engaging artwork, which can be in any art form – traditional to new media, fine art to illustrations, graffiti and mosaic, embroidery to metalwork. Whatever the art form, they’re keen to add drama fun and a creative flourish to Rocket Round Leicester.
All the submitted designs will be shortlisted before the final artwork is hand-picked by sponsors. Successful artists are then commissioned to apply their designs to the sculptures.
Successful artists will:
– Receive up to £850 upon completion of their rocket
– Get to showcase their work to thousands on the biggest public art trail Leicester has ever seen
– Meet other artists and get to work side by side in a communal space…

Any artist is welcome to submit designs – whether established, or just starting out; from the Leicestershire area or further afield.
Following the event, these public art sculptures are auctioned to raise funds for LOROS Hospice.
