The Cultural Quarter will come alive with music, dance, culture and food on Saturday 20 August as An Indian Summer Festival returns.

The event is free to attend and will see a main stage out in Orton Square, alongside an outdoor bar, delicious food traders and plenty of entertainment.

Entertainment will run throughout the day with live music, dance and DJ from 12pm- 8pm, so whether you want to grab a drink and soak up the summer vibes, or get involved in the activities, the choice is yours.

If you’re looking to grab a bite to eat you won’t be disappointed, as top local independents Kayal and Desi Street Food will be in Orton Square selling delicious South Asian food throughout the day and into the evening.

Inside Curve will also be a hive of activity. Join local creatives from 12pm – 5pm and immerse yourself in storytelling, art activities, try on traditional Indian dress, get a henna tattoo and much more. Find the full list of drop in activities on the Curve website.

As evening comes, internationally acclaimed musician, Talvin Singh will be performing at Curve as part of the festival. Percussionist, producer and composer, Talvin Singh, is renowned for creating the bridge between Indian and electronic music. Drawing Inspiration from the classical Indian arts, he has managed to sculpt a unique sonic landscape and taken the Tabla to the cutting edge with the most unimaginable creations.

Talvin will be joined by fellow classical musicians in an unmissable one-off performance. This is a separate ticketed event and tickets are on sale now from Curve.

Aakash Odedra Company will be presenting a short dance by AO2 before the show, showcasing Leicester’s next generation of classical and contemporary Indian dance.
