In Leicester’s business world, TML Solicitors are one of the leading names in the legal sector. As they celebrate 10 years in business, they’re marking the occasion by moving to new offices in the heart of the city.

The move sees TML’s journey come full circle as they’ve purchased the building where the company began life in a serviced office back in 2013.

Director, Dav Mahet, explains, “TML started life on 1 July 2013 in JP Business Centre on London Road. We were there for 3 years, and when we outgrew the shared space I had a good relationship with the landlord and said, “If you ever want to sell this building, please give me first refusal.” 6 years later I got a phone call out of the blue and now we’re about to make the move.”

The move is a clear display of the growth that TML has seen over the past decade. Operating across a number of legal sectors, including Commercial Property, Conveyancing, Criminal Law, Family Law and Wills & Probate, TML now employs over 25 people and has made a name for itself as one of Leicester’s leading law firms, with a number of award nominations and wins to add to it.

“When we were offered the opportunity to buy the building we knew what a significant step it was for us. Now, being based on London Road, we’re in an ideal location close to the city centre, we’re easy to reach for our clients, and also in an ideal position to attract the cream of new staff. We’re also really excited about the regeneration work that will be done around Leicester Train Station and how that will open up the London Road area.”

“We’re very proud of what we’ve built at TML, both with the professional services we offer and also the culture amongst our staff. Reena and I as Co-Directors both have a lot of energy, and I feel that energy and positivity can be contagious, which is a feeling we want to spread throughout our team in the office. Whether it’s work lunches, spur of the moment after work drinks, or gifts for the team, we ensure that our staff culture is open and positive.”

“We’re also a training firm. We don’t just have a handful of solicitors, we’re training up new members of staff, we’re encouraging the team to develop and grow. That’s a really important side to who we are in bringing in and developing that next generation of lawyers.”

Co-Director, Reena Bhalla, added, “You spend more time at work than you do at home so our team environment is very important. It’s also vital for the training side of the firm that we have that open office that allows members of staff to feel comfortable posing questions and developing, not just in their roles, but also their personal development. We’ve had people start off with us on work experience or working on reception, to then complete their training with us and work their way up to paralegal or fully qualified solicitors, which we’re very proud of.”

TML have also made it a key aim to support local in their additional activities, including sponsoring local sports teams and athletes. TML sponsor Ryan Hearst (A Professional Boxer), Ysabel Juniper-Smith (an aspiring Karate superstar with her sights set on the Olympics Team), Mark “The War Chief” Ahondjo (an amateur boxer with his sights on the Olympics Team), and Martin Reffell (a bare-knuckle boxing specialist).  TML are also proud to sponsor Respect Fitness and the Black-Tie Charity Boxing Series who organise boxing events to raise money for mental health.

From midnight calls to the police station and guiding clients through divorce proceedings, to helping you move into your new home or ensuring your family’s future is safe with a new will or lasting power of attorney, TML provide an expert service across each of their service areas.

Dav commented, “The truth is that nobody really wants to be using a solicitor, unless you’re buying a house. So we know not everyone’s journey to us is an easy one. However, whatever the reason for your contact with us, we have a dedicated team of specialists who will go through your requirements, explain the next steps and ensure that you’re comfortable throughout each step of the process. We also offer a free consultation for anyone who comes to us with a family law enquiry. We know that this can be a difficult time to access a lawyer, so we’re careful to take time to fully understand the client’s concerns before proceeding.”

Reena, added, “Dav and I ourselves work in different areas. Our different specialist areas and approaches allow us to keep a real overview of the activity in the business.”

“We narrowed our services to five key areas, which we selected to ensure we’re offering the best expert advice in these sectors. Whatever your concern in these areas, please do get in touch.”

As TML look to the future with growth plans both in Leicester and further afield, the basis of their success as a business remains rooted in their client care.

“Reviews from our clients are consistently excellent and it’s very rewarding to know that the majority of our business comes through word of mouth recommendations. We’re in the top 3 best reviewed law firms in the Midlands, which we’re hugely proud of and we have our wonderful team to thank for that.”

TML Solicitors will be based at 87 London Road from Tuesday 2 May 2023. You can find out more about them and their legal services at www.tml-solictors.co.uk.
