Leicester City Centre is in full celebration mode this weekend, and not just because of the football.

This Sunday marks Cinco de Mayo and the Mexican inspired festival celebrations will be taking over St Martin’s Square.

Do you like tacos? And tequila? And Mariachi bands? And all things Mexican? If so, St Martin’s Square is the place to be this Sunday. With Mariachi bands and kids activities from 1pm through until 5pm, then from 6pm until late there’ll be live music and plenty of tequila flowing.

Presented jointly by Crafty, Juuice Bar and Tonne Bar, the activities will be spread across the 3 venues and music throughout the Square.

Kids activities will be running for most of the afternoon from 1pm onwards and the Mariachi will play 3 sets of 30 mins. Family fun will include balloon modelling, glitter tattoos, crafts, and street walkers. Tying in with Leicester City’s Straight Back Up Parade celebration, which runs until 2.30pm, it’s an ideal afternoon out in the city centre.

St Martin’s Coffee won’t be serving their usual brunch menu due to the event, but you can enjoy a delicious menu of tacos, tenders, loaded fries and nachos. No reservations are available and tables will be on a walk-in basis.

The Cinco de Mayo event is sponsored by BID Leicester.

Sunday 5 May, 1pm – 5pm and 6pm – late. St Martin’s Square, LE1.
