Fancy a gin and tonic in the sunshine, why not keep it local by grabbing a bottle from Bond Street Distillery based over in Hinckley?

As well as a cocktail bar, Hinckley’s Bond Street Distillery is also a distillery and gin school, producing their own small batch gin.

Throughout the lockdown period you can still order their Hinckley No 1 Gin, Signature London Dry or a summery taste with their Bond Street Raspberry Gin.

Dan from Bond Street Distillery has even shared a recipe off their new menu with us. Why don’t you give it a go?

Bond Street distillery

Bond Street Basil Gimlet.

50ml Bond Street Signature (you can buy Leicester’s very own at www.thebondstreetdistillery.co.uk)

25ml Lime Juice

25ml Simple Syrup (See recipe)

5 Big Basil Leaves

Hard shake with cubed ice, double strain with a hawthorn and fine strainer. Garnish with a basil leaf and a twist of crack black pepper. Embrace the colour and enjoy!

This cocktail pairs fantastically with many Italian dishes, particularly lighter such as a Pollo.

Glassware – Coupe/cocktail glass

Simple Syrup Recipe – Measure 1:1 ratio of superfine sugar to water, for example 100g of water to 100g of sugar and stir till clear, if using granulated sugar a simmering on a low heat whilst stirring will aid the sugar dissolve.
