Being vegan has never offered so much choice, and with Leicester as the home of Veganism it’s no surprise that we’re proud to offer a range of tempting options. We look at some of the best places to visit for this week’s BID Leicester Spotlight.
Chutney Ivy
Chutney Ivy’s 4 course vegan menu offers a feast of their most popular vegan dishes, including Bhindi Masala, Subzi Milloni, Saag Aloo and Tarka Daal. There’s even vegan cheesecake to finish. As a bonus they’re also offering £10 off the menu this January! Recently reviewed by The Hungry Vegans, they commented, “We were really impressed by the quality of the food we were served and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Such a delicious range of flavours and felt like a really nice treat.”
The Vegan Feast menu is priced at £30 but for January you can enjoy this for just £20 per person when dining Monday – Thursday.
Herb
Of course Herb is Leicester’s exclusively vegan and vegetarian restaurant, located on Granby Street. Serving up delicious South Indian flavours, you’ll be spoilt for choice from dishes packed with mushroom, papaya, coconut and more. With intriguing and delicious flavours it’s a must visit for vegans this month and beyond. Don’t miss their fantastic £5 lunchtime offer.
The Queen of Bradgate
The Queen of Bradgate on High Street is an under the radar foodie gem. Always serving up delicious meals, from brunch through to dinner, they also offer a range of vegan menu items. Plus for January you can enjoy 25% off your bill (excluding Saturdays). From a full vegan breakfast to pulled jackfruit served with rice, nachos and guacamole, there are plenty of options to choose from. Don’t miss the vegan brownie for dessert.
Pizza Punks
Pizza Punks is celebrating Veganuary with two special vegan pizzas.
ROMESCO VEGANA – Roast red pepper & sunflower romesco, balsamic cheery tomatoes, seeetdrop peppers, purezza stracciazza, toasted seeds & basil oil.
Sixes Social Cricket
Pair up Veganuary with an activity night out too. Whether you’re visiting for batting, karaoke, or just to hang out, you can enjoy their vegan pizzas and burgers. The Root Scoop burger comes packed with a vegan patty, double vegan cheese, Sixes burger sauce, shallots and dill pickles, whilst a number of the pizzas on their menu can be made with vegan alternatives.
Bodega
Enjoy a taste of South America at Bodega with their full vegan menu. From the hugely popular House Sharing Nachos or Sweet Potato & Mushroom Tacos, to vegan burritos, tortilla salad bowls and more.
Prana
Prana has become well known and loved for their extensive vegan options, including a delicious full vegan afternoon tea. From breakfast options through to stacked protein bowls, delicious homemade cakes and grab and go sandwiches, it’s an ideal lunch stop in town. Furthermore you can dine in the evening on Fridays and Saturdays and enjoy the evening menu of vegan pizzas, burgers, lasagne and more accompanied by their vegan wine selection.
