Tell us about Cotswold Outdoor and what you specialise in?
For almost 50 years, we’ve been helping people discover the outdoors by offering quality clothing, equipment and accessories from the very best outdoor brands. Our knowledgeable in-store experts are passionate about helping customers make the right choice when it comes to finding the right kit. We also offer free in-store kit appointments, outdoor footwear and rucksack fitting services to ensure our customers get the best fit for their adventures.
Tell us a little about Runners Need (are the shops together/different/any specialist products?)
We have a Runners Need store located within Leicester Cotswold Outdoor to provide specialist running advice and expertise to any local runners. As well as offering running kit from the very best brands, we have services like free, expert gait analysis to help customers find the perfect fit, wherever and however they love to run.
We also host a free weekly run club which is open to everyone. Whether you’re just starting out or training for a marathon, it’s a great way to connect with other runners in the area.
What are some of your most popular products?
Footwear is one of our bestsellers – we stock an extensive range, so there’s something for everyone. Whether customers are looking for walking boots or shoes, footwear for walking the dog or leisure footwear, they won’t be disappointed.
We also offer expert advice through our free in-store boot fitting appointments to give customers the chance to get correctly measured and speak to an in-store expert for advice based on the kind of activities they’ll be doing.
As mentioned, for the runners, we also offer free gait analysis through Runners Need. Gait analysis allows our experts to assess customers running on a treadmill, so we can make running shoe recommendations based on how and where they run.
What’s the best thing about your location in Highcross?
Our central location on High Cross means our store is incredibly accessible and easy for people to pop into when they are out doing their shopping.
It also means that our weekly run club is convenient for those joining us straight from work.
Do you offer any other services in-store?
Yes, one of the benefits of visiting our store is the range of in-store services available. As well as outdoor footwear fitting and gait analysis appointments, we can offer rucksack fitting appointments, adventure kit list appointments, camping kit list appointments and electronics advice. Our appointments give customers the chance to speak one-to-one with one of our experts to ensure they get the best advice and can make the right choice.
We also offer a Repair and Care service, which includes washing and repair services for your outdoor kit, a 60-second Footwear Protection Service, which provides unrivalled protection against the elements , and a Recycle My Gear service which enables customers to recycle their old, unwanted kit and give it a new lease of life.
