Eat Out to Help Out was a massive hit in August, but if you didn’t take full advantage, don’t worry, Wygston’s House is one of those businesses who have chosen to extend the offer.

Throughout September, October and November they’ve got a range of special offers running for customers and we caught up with them for this week’s BID Spotlight feature to find out more.

How would you describe Wygston’s House for anyone who hasn’t been?

The oldest standing house in Leicester with a Tudor front and Victorian and Georgian annexes. We have a large beer garden to the front and side and Tudor and Georgian Dining areas, both serving both a classic bar menu along side our al la carte Menu. Wygston’s house is like a classic country pub in the heart of the city centre.

What’s your favourite thing about the venue?

The history and uniqueness of the building and having the pleasure of sharing it with the general public. So many old buildings stand around doing nothing and I’m happy at least this one gets to be shown off.

How has life been there since opening post-lockdown?

Luckily we have an ample sized garden which we have been able to take full advantage of while the weather has been in our favour. The current restrictions have been hard and not ideal however everyone is in the same situation and we have to just make the most of it.

You’ve extended the Eat Out to Help Out discount, can you give us a little more detail about your offers?

With The success of the eat out to help out scheme we decided to extend the offer in our own unique way.Our Countdown To Help Out Plan simply is intended to help people get back to normality and during our quieter days Monday-Wednesday.

We are offering:

40% off all food in September

30% off all food in October and

20% off all food in November until our Festive Menu goes live.

Our only request is that you please also buy a drink.

What’s your favourite thing on the menu?

I’m always a fan of a good roast dinner especially our strip loin on roast beef and it has to be served pink. However I have just today had the chance to try our new duo of duck salad starter which will be on our new al la carte menu and that was extremely delicious.
