Brew Beat is back this weekend as Leicester city centre sees the return of the popular FREE craft beer and music festival on Green Dragon Square.

Live in town from Friday 2 – Sunday 4 September, you can enjoy an eclectic line up of live music, including over 30 artists and bands, as well as over 40 craft beers.

In addition to the craft beer and music, you can visit the gin and cocktail tent, and enjoy street food stalls from some of Leicester’s popular restaurants, including Kayal, Herb, Desi Street Food and Knight & Garter.

The Music

Providing the soundtrack to the festival will be a varied line up of artists, with sounds spanning through funk, reggae, soul, rock, urban and electronic music. Headline acts include a 7-piece live funk extravaganza in the form of Leeds based funk and soul band Haggis Horns, reggae grooves from North-West London based producer and multi -instrumentalist Kiko Bun, a brass explosion by New Orleans inspired King Brasstards, and a DJ set from DMC World Champion Jon1st. Other artists billed to perform include Queen Millz, HQ Familia Live Show, Harri Georgio & The Well Behaved Young Men, NinjaBob, Ffion Rebecca, Maniscooler, Funknation and Rotations, and more. Music will be on throughout the day until 9pm each night.

The Beers

The festival will also feature a huge variety of 40+ craft beers from a stellar line up of breweries, including local names such as Framework, Charnwood, Leatherbritches, Everards, Round Corner, Oakham, and national greats including Tiny Rebel, Vocation, Beavertown. As well as the huge selection available at the festival, pubs and bars across the city centre will be adding to the possibilities of new tipples to try via a craft beer trail, with specially selected beers that will be available exclusively over the weekend.

Trail and Afterparties

After the festival ends each evening, venues around the city will be continuing the party by hosting live music events, with venues including Bruxelles, Sommar, Brick & Beam and more. Brew Beat is funded by BID Leicester, with support from PPL PRS and Leicester City Council, and initiated and delivered by three local businesses: design work has been co -ordinated by agency Arch Creative; the musical line up curated by HQ Recording and Steamin’ Billy will be providing the selection of drinks on Green Dragon Square.
