It’s Leicester’s very own city centre craft beer and music festival, and it’s back this weekend! Brew Beat has a new home on Jubilee Square, but with all of the drinks and fun that you’ve come to love.
Brew Beat 2023 takes place from Friday 1 – Sunday 3 September on Jubilee Square in Leicester City Centre.
For the beer lovers, you can expect a line-up of 40+ craft beers from your favourite breweries, including Charnwood, Leatherbritches, Everards, Round Corner, Hollow Stone, Hockley Brew and more. However, if beer isn’t your thing, don’t worry! There’ll be plenty of soft drinks, cider, gin, fizz, and cocktails to keep you going throughout the weekend as well. Keep a special eye out for Audrey’s cocktails and the locally distilled gins from Stoughton Grange.
Of course, as well as the epic beer selection, there’s a tasty food line-up to accompany it. Of course you’re only moments away for a range of fantastic independent eateries in town, but there will be four traders on site throughout the weekend. The wonderful Desi Street Food will be back with the tasty selection of vegetarian Indian delicacies, alongside popular independent pizzeria, Dough What. You can enjoy a flavour explosion from Giggling Squid and then cool down with a sweet treat from the Lane7 ice cream truck.
But Brew Beat isn’t just about the food and drink, there’s also a very special music line-up planned throughout the weekend. Together with friends from HQ Recording, the music line-up will feature over 30 different artists and DJs across the festival. Live music will run from 5-10pm on Friday, 12-10pm on Saturday and 12-7pm on Sunday. That’s over 20 hours of free live music to keep you dancing all weekend. Whether you’re into Urban, Hip Hop, Funk, Soul, Jazz or Rock, we’ll have something to suit everyone’s taste.
Some standout names across the weekend include Sam Redmore, London indie rockers, The Skinner Brothers, who toured with The Libertines, and The Filthy Six who are a jazz and funk powerhouse seeing out the festival in style on Sunday evening.
For Leicester City fans, you can catch Jersey Budd at 2pm on Saturday to blast out When You’re Smiling live before the match versus Hull kicks off at 3pm.
Best of all the event is complete FREE. It’s family friendly. It’s dog friendly. Oh, and did we mention it’s free?
