Leicester is a hit for international cuisine, from Indian to Italian and all in-between. When it comes to Greek food, where is your go to spot?
Mr Gyro’s opened on Churchgate in June 2023 and has proven a hit with customers since, thanks to their delicious freshly prepared menu.
We caught up with them to find out more for this week’s BID Spotlight feature.
What is your favourite thing about running Mr Gyro’s?
Mr Gyro’s gives us the chance to cook and offer our favourite food as we are really passionate about it. Also we love to run our business in a nice community which gives us the opportunity to interact with our lovely customers. Some of them have now become friends as they are very regular. Last but not least it’s rewarding to see all the lovely and positive feedback received by our customers after eating with us and that’s how they become our “regulars”.
If we were visiting for the first time what should we order?
Well I would recommend our gyros! Fluffy pita bread with a spread of our home made tzatziki, fresh salad, chips and your choice of meat (we also have vegetarian options).
What’s the best thing about traditional Greek cuisine?
The Mediterranean style cuisine is known to be amongst the healthiest combination of ingredients, full of flavour and freshness.
What makes Mr Gyro’s stand out in Leicester?
Our food is all freshly prepared in house, starting from our dips such as tzatziki, tirokafteri and hummus, to our souvlaki meats which we marinate to our standards, and our salads with fresh ingredients which are bought locally.
Mr Gyro’s is located at 45 Churchgate LE1. They are open from Tuesday – Thursday (11am – 8pm), Friday & Saturday (11am – 10pm) and Sunday (11.30am – 8pm). You can also order via delivery platforms.
