Dog owners in Leicester, did you know there’s a free to use dog agility park based in Aylestone?

The facility is run by RAD (Recovery Assistance Dogs) and the agility course is a community project, brought about through a successful crowdfunding campaign along with funding from Leicester City Council. For over 10 years, RAD has provided specialised assistance dog training to UK members living with mental health disabilities to become qualified handlers of their own assistance dogs.

When not in use by RAD, the park space is open to the public to take their dogs down and use the course. There are a number of fun obstacles for the dogs to play on and enjoy, or take time to train your pup using the equipment.

The gate to the park will be locked when it is in use by RAD, but remains open at other times and the site is securely fenced around the perimeter.

The course is located at the rear of Aylestone Leisure Centre at 2 Knighton Lane East, Leicester, LE2 6LU.

For more information on RAD or to sign up to their training programme from just £2 a week, visit the RAD website.
