Two things we love here at Cool As Leicester are movies and quirky artwork, so you can imagine our delight at discovering a fab company that combines the two.
Minimal Prints specialize is artwork themed around movies and take the movie title or plot back to basics within the design.
The brains behind the company, Dave Peacock, admits that the story behind him setting the business up is more to do with his home life. “I wanted an excuse to put some art up in the house with the approval of the wife and that’s how it started. People loved the prints and it really went from there.”
With so many films covered you can find yourself a print for anything from Blood Diamond to Wizard of Oz and they’ve even started doing some for TV series now such as Breaking Bad.
The minimalistic style is very unique and condensing a movie down into that one simple image has proved very popular amongst fans and customers. “The most popular prints I’d say are Donnie Darko, True Romance and The Big Lebowski, but my personal favourite is the Back To The Future one”.
And it seems we’re not the only ones to pick up on the fantastic prints as one of the writers of The Wolf of Wall Street contacted the company to say he loved their image so much that he’d bought one and sent them a photo. High praise indeed!
