It’s Bank Holiday Weekend! Summer may be nearly over but there’s still plenty of fun to be had. With so many great events happening this weekend check out our listings below for the pick of where to go!

Friday 24 August

Canteen at LCB Depot

What better way to kick start the Bank Holiday weekend than with our mates, Canteen? This is the last Canteen to take place at LCB Depot so head down for incredible food, lots of fun, fine cocktails and excellent tunes. Traders this month include Canteen debutants Yo Dough! with their cookie dough stuffed doughnuts, The Little Red Food Truck with incredible grilled cheese, The Patty Freaks with the most insane rainbow burger you’ve ever seen, and everyone’s favourite, Canoodle. From 4pm at LCB Depot, Rutland Street.

Hype Sample Sale

Originating in Leicester, Hype is now stocked on high streets all over the world. This weekend they’re back in Leicester for their annual sample sale. Taking place at Europe House in Wigston you can grab all kinds of bargains. Register your free place.

Together We Fly

Don’t miss this awesome party brought to you by Leicester’s top club promoters. PBR Streetgang are headlining and there’ll be DJs inside and outside all through the day, kicking off from 3pm right through to 3am. Canteen are on hand to keep you fed with both Biddulphs Pizza and Yo Dough! parked up all day, plus there’ll be drinks deals and The Glitter Girls on hand to add some sparkle to you. It’s all happening at Sumo on Braunstone Gate and advance tickets are on sale now.

Summer Sessions at The Soundhouse

On both Saturday & Sunday you can enjoy some music outside in the garden at The Soundhouse on Southampton Street. Kicking off at 2pm, free entry, plenty of seating, great drinks deals and acoustic performances. Stick around later on Saturday night and enjoy the Glastonbudget auditions, which follow Summer Sessions.

Bakersfest at The Bakers Arms Blaby

Head down to The Bakers Arms in Blaby for their annual Bank Holiday Bakersfest. Expect live music to run alongside their beer, cider and gin festival all weekend. Free entry and food served 12pm – 3pm and 5pm – 9pm Friday – Monday.

Sunday 26 August

Leicestershire County Show

Celebrate Leicestershire’s rural life at the annual County Show at Market Harborough Showground. This year the event is running over 2 day so you can pop down on Saturday too. Enjoy a kick about with Leicester Tigers, see some vintage tractors, enjoy the DOG SHOWS, there’ll be some jousting and a “Grand parade of cattle”. Find out more.

Free All-Dayer at Firebug

Live music from some of Leicester’s best bands both upstairs and downstairs, kids movies from 12-3pm, BBQ menu running all day including vegan options and free entry all day. Later on Plug silent disco follows upstairs until 4am.

Bank Holiday Garden Party at The Royal Oak, Kirby Muxloe

Sunday Soulfood Session at Rutland & Derby

There aren’t many places better in the city to enjoy a lazy Sunday, but this weekend there’s even more reason to head over to Knight & Garter as Veuve Cliquot are taking over their terrace all weekend! You can still enjoy the usual, fabulous brunch and Sunday lunch menus, but also why not indulge in a special Veuve cocktail on the terrace? They’ll have music on the terrace, special drink menus and canapés.

Monday 27 August

Bank Holiday at The Pumping Station

Enjoy live music, gourmet burgers, afternoon tea and plenty of family friendly fun at The Pumping Station’s annual summer shindig. There’ll be a bouncy castle and dance painting, plus it’s free entry!

Annual Rutland Beer Festival at The Grainstore Brewery

This one is running all weekend but we reckon it makes for a perfect Bank Holiday Monday trip! Hop on the train from Leicester to Oakham and as you step off the platform you’ll be straight into The Grainstore Brewery Tap where Rutland Beer Festival will keep you entertained all day. Entry is free and there’s a £3 deposit for a glass. Live entertainment, BBQ and over seventy real ales with an array of golden ales, stouts, bitters, porters and barley wines, plus a wide selection of traditional ciders. All day until midnight.
