If you’re looking for somewhere new to hang out online then why not pop over to the Isolate Inn?
The new virtual pub has been set-up by a Leicester events company and they’ve got plenty to keep you entertained from quizzes to a school discos.
The Isolate Inn was formed by TMW Productions, a Leicester based events company. Landlord Tom found himself at a loose end the first Saturday of lockdown and persuaded by his girlfriend Claire set his disco equipment up in the kitchen and put on an impromptu disco, which he streamed live! This was so well received that the Isolate Inn was born!
A little under 6 weeks has passed, a website was created and a page, which now has over 2000 page likes. There is a host of different events across the week for the whole family to enjoy. From discos to quizzes and live music, many of which have been sponsored by local companies.
Through the page events they have reached as far as the USA and even Australia and have now also created a T shirt which is for sale and raising money for charities, locally and nationally.
“Our midweek pub quiz is very popular, if nothing else it helps people remember what day it is during these uncertain times!” Landlord, Tom, adds. “We host it live ourselves and it’s a chance for people to spent time virtually together, and mostly moan at us if we get the questions wrong! We are here for free to entertain and to promote peoples wellbeing during this difficult time.”
“The feedback has been fantastic and so supportive, its heartwarming to see that social media can be used for good and that social distancing doesn’t mean we can’t still be together. We also want to give performers the opportunity of reaching an audience. Of course we miss our actual pubs and our local The Britannia Inn have been greatly supporting us during this time.”
