There’s more than just the music at Texfest this year, as Leicestershire’s biggest new major music festival announces some further details and activities for both families and individuals during the weekend. Football, basketball and rugby fans, read on!

Providing additional activities across the weekend, Texfest will be welcoming Leicester City Football Club, Leicester Riders and Northampton Saints Rugby Club, who will each be pitching up at the festival site during the weekend to run community activities, competitions and family fun.

Take the time to shoot from the penalty spot with Leicester City, or stop for a selfie with Filbert Fox. Is your youngster a keen aspiring footballer? They’ll also be able to take part in a skills workshop over the weekend. If rugby is more your thing then Northampton Saints will be on hand with their tag rugby games and Kick Pass Run challenge, or head over to the Leicester Riders area to shoot some hoops and learn more about the British Basketball League Champions.

Sport not your bag? There’ll also be a brilliant on site fun fair from Billy Bates & Son to keep those young at heart festivalgoers in a spin all weekend! With rides to suit both youngsters and adults, there’s no chance of getting bored!

These activities will run alongside the major music performances from the likes of Example, The Fratellis, We Are Scientists, Tinchy Stryder and many more, who are already confirmed for the event in Market Harborough.

Texfest are also taking care to ensure that all visitors are well catered for with a range of delicious food traders across both the festival site and camping areas. Traders will be offering a whole feast of dishes including both vegetarian and vegan options. They’ll also be making sure you don’t go thirsty with a number of cash bars on site offering beer, wine and cocktails.

Texfest is being headlined by chart-topper Example and indie stars The Fratellis, with other weekend performances coming from the likes of We Are Scientists, Will Varley, Tinchy Stryder, Beans on Toast, The Hoosiers, Reggie & Bollie, Lewis Watson, The South, Nick Grimshaw and whole host of local talent.

Most recently the festival has also announced the addition of fantastic new up and coming artists – Superevolver, Gazelle, The Shrives, Magician’s Nephew, Traps, Mellow, Carl & The Red Mafia, Tom Bem and Matthew R. Not just about the Main Stage action, for dance music fans the festival will also be welcoming Nick Jennings who will be running an on-site Drum n Bass bus all weekend.
