The Cultural Quarter has become the go to place for the last Friday of every month, thanks to Cultural Quarter Lates and the events and activities around LCB Depot and other nearby venues.

BUT as well as the street food and fun taking place at LCB Depot, there’s a great event now taking place every month around the corner at the Leicester Print Workshop with Got Enough Books’ monthly Night Market. Yes, did you know that there’s an independent book shop based inside the Leicester Print Workshop? You do now!

We caught up with owner, Tom, to find out more about it.

Tell us about Got Enough Books and what you’re all about?

We’re an independent bookstore based in Leicester’s iconic Cultural Quarter. We sell books on art, fashion, photography, design, cinema, food & all other aspects of creative culture.

What inspired the idea to launch?

We began initially selling books online that we’d amassed from our time at DMU studying Fine Art, Film Studies & English. We then realised after positive feedback that we wanted to continue, and after leafleting around the city, we were offered the opportunity to have a physical, permanent home.

When and where can people find you?

We’re based in the amazing Leicester Print Workshop – a real staple of the the Cultural Quarter. Just a stone’s throw from Curve and round the corner from the LCB Depot. We’re open Tuesday – Saturday, 10am – 5pm

How would describe the Night Market to anyone who hasn’t been?

It’s a really really special event. Full of amazing makers and small businesses, with delicious drinks and often we invite caterers to sell amazing street food. It’s really become a hub for creative people to showcase their talents, and it’s growing month on month. Free entry too!

What inspired the idea of the Night Market?

When we joined Leicester Print Workshop one of the first discussions we had was around CQL (Cultural Quarter Lates), a series of events running across the last Friday of the month. We were tasked with creating an event to partner the amazing work at Last Friday (LCB Depot), After Hours (The Exchange) & exhibition openings at Phoenix & Two Queens. We saw a gap in the selection of events, and as a retail space it made sense to bring people under the Got Enough Books banner to showcase amazing artists and creators.

How often does it take place?

We run Night Market every month of the year between February – November, on the last friday of the month, 6-10pm!

Who are some of your favourite traders you’ve had at Night Market?

Our traders make Night Market what it is – truly special. We handpick every trader ourselves, and genuinely couldn’t pick between them! A special shout out to some of our resident traders who are involved and help us often, such as Two Queens, Out of Joint Records & Little Sister.

What’s your favourite thing about Leicester’s independent scene?

As two people who grew up here, Leicester has always been a hub for independent artists, musicians & businesses. A truly creative city with a thriving, passionate community. A huge shout out to some of our favourite independent spots; Grays Kitchen & Cafe, The Coffee Obsessive, Harriman & Co, The Very Bazaar, The Bloom Project and so many more! We love and champion Leicester always.
