Not many things go together better than great craft beer and tasty fresh pizza, so a new partnership between Dough What and The Real Ale Classroom is set to get customers in Leicester City Centre excited.
Yes, you can now officially enjoy pizza in the classroom without getting detention, with Dough What delivering directly to The Real Ale Classroom on Rutland Street. Simply phone through your order when you’re enjoying a beer (or gin or wine) and your freshly made pizza will be hand delivered to you at the pub to enjoy.
It’s always great to see new collaborations between independent Leicester businesses, but this one has a little more behind it as well. Ian Martin, co-owner of The Real Ale Classroom, was in fact Sagar from Dough What’s former teacher, teaching him Economics at school. Dough What is a family owned business, with Sagar taking the lead on all pizza making duties as well as helping to run the venue.
Sagar commented, “I’d never have thought I’d be working with my ex-teacher, who happened to teach me economics. The fact the pub is in the style of a classroom as well, it’s like being back at school again. But it’s great to know that nobody is getting detention for eating pizza or using their phone in this classroom.”
Dough What has become a popular city centre spot (currently #1 on TripAdvisor for pizza) with their classic handmade Neapolitan pizza as well as being the only spot in Leicestershire offering the classic Chicago deep dish pizza style. So whichever pizza style you prefer you can enjoy a fresh, homemade version of it there. The Real Ale Classroom has brought new life to the Cultural Quarter since opening in 2023, serving up a changing line-up of craft beers and ales, plus carefully selected wines and spirits.
Pizza is available at The Real Ale Classroom Tuesday – Sunday until 9pm. Menus are available in the pub and there’s free delivery for orders over £20.
