How on earth is August bank holiday weekend here already?! The weather looks set to be gorgeous and there’s absolutely loads going on, so we’ve picked out our top places to be this weekend.

Crafty x Tonne Street Party

Yes, two of our absolute favourites have teamed up for a street party. Tonne with the biggest beer selection in Leicester and their neighbours, Crafty, with their banging burgers! Throw in the sunshine, outdoor space, live music and a creative pop-up from Realms of Rummage featuring some of Leicester’s best independent crafty people, it’s going to be a whole heap of fun! On Sunday 25 August from 3pm – 8pm (then afterparty at Tonne).

Head to City Festival

You’ve all seen the dome on Jubilee Square by now, right? City Festival is on until Sunday with plenty of fun for the whole family. Head down anytime from midday – late to enjoy some awesome food from Canteen and their selection of top traders. They’re also serving up beers, cocktails and shakes (try the Biscoff shake!) from their bar, as well as a special little Japanese pop-up gin bar. Over in the dome you can enjoy free family activities during the day or why not head down to see live stand-up comedy on Saturday night headlined by Dane Baptiste, or the close of the festival with live music from The Urban Voodoo Machine on Sunday night. Tickets available from Gigantic.

Cider & Cheese Festival at The Blue Boar

Yes, one of the city centre’s best pubs is throwing a cider and cheese festival all weekend! From Friday – Monday head down to The Blue Boar on Millstone Lane to discover some new ciders and see which cheese they pair well with. Prepare to try some brand new flavour combinations.

Chairmain’s Mai Tai Street Kitchen & Bar Takeover

Extending the fun in St Martin’s Square on Sunday is 33 Cank Street with their outdoor tiki bar, Caribbean food pop-up and DJ sets from City Fly records. From 3pm on Sunday 25 August.

There’ll be cask and keg ales, craft beers and guest ciders from around the UK, a delicious BBQ and tasty specials on their Café Bar menu (with vegan options).
