National Treasures – Renoir in Leicester
Leicester Museum & Art Gallery, New Walk
10 May – 1 September

One of the world’s most famous artworks, Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s The Umbrellas, is coming to Leicester as part of The National Gallery’s 200th birthday celebrations. National Treasures sees 12 iconic artworks loaned to galleries and museums across the UK.

Saturday 11 May

Leicester’s FREE monthly creative family festival Cultural Quarter Earlies is back on Saturday May 11th! There’ll be activities in venues across Leicester’s Cultural Quarter including LCB Depot, Phoenix, Two Queens and Leicester Print Workshop.

Pint of Science Festival (various city centre locations)
Monday 13 – Wednesday 15 May

Pint of Science is a worldwide science festival which brings researchers to your local pub/cafe/space to share their scientific discoveries with you – no prior knowledge required. Find out more on the Pint of Science website.

The Spark Festival (various city centre locations)
18 – 25 May

Celebrate Joy, Freedom, and Choice at the 21st Spark Festival. Across 7 action-packed days, this year’s festival offers 34 performances, 15 “Give it a go” activities and workshops, and 2 exhibitions. You can “See a show” at one of the fantastic venues that are part of the festival or “Give it a go” in some of your favourite cultural spots across the city.

Bring The Paint (across the city centre)
20 – 26 May

See Leicester come to life with new artworks popping up across the city centre. See the artists at work as a new spread of street art fills our buildings and immerse yourself in a celebration of culture with workshops, music, family fun and more.

Grease, The Little Theatre
21 – 25 May

Following the success of last year’s award-winning production of Ghost, WAOS are proud to present their production of Grease. You all know the story, It’s 1959, and Rydell High School seniors are back in class. The too-cool-for-school “T-Birds” are stealing hubcaps and acting tough and their gum-chewing, chain-smoking “Pink Ladies” are looking good in bobby sox and pedal pushers. Join this fantastic arts group from Wigston as it comes to life at The Little Theatre.

CIRQUE: The Greatest Show, Curve
30 May – 2 June

Let the music lift you on a truly wondrous journey bursting with kaleidoscopic colour. Stars of the West End combine with incredible circus performers as the biggest hits from your favourite theatre shows are brought to the stage in unique, spellbinding style.
