We caught up with them to find out more about the store and their retail items.
Looking ahead to the warmer weather people will be wanting to plan countryside walks, hikes, camping and plenty of outdoor fun. How can Millets cater for everything they need?
We cater for all levels from beginners through to experts. It’s a funny time of the year as we will soon be heading into the warmer weather but still have those chilly mornings and evenings. The 3 in 1 jackets are great, it is a waterproof outer jacket which has a interactive fleece on the inside, getting to the warmer season it will be less necessary for the fleece layer and more convenient to just have the waterproof layer. The brands we do that provide this particular kind of jacket are ‘Peter storm’ ‘The North Face’ ‘Berghaus’ and ‘Technicals’.
What are some of the best items that you sell in store?
We sell a lot of great items in our store, my personal favourites are the Berghaus jackets, all Berghaus products come with LIFETIME GUARANTEE. This means that as long as it’s not down to generally wear and tear, Berghaus themselves will cover the product for life. Wether it’s a pair of walking boots, a rucksack or our best selling gore-tex jackets. They will cover the product for life.
We also sell a wide range of add on products behind the till that go down to half price with any other purchase in store. These include, batteries, torches, first aid kids and much more.
Of course, in light of the current situation people may be indoors more, however for those who aren’t self isolating it’s been said that fresh air and countryside walks can be very beneficial. Do you do products for casual walkers as well as more serious hikers?

As the summer comes round and so does festival season, what are the camping must haves?
For the festival season we have the pop up tents which are £45 down from £60. This is great for festival first timers and is a must have. In the upcoming weeks we will be introducing our camping chairs from £7.50! Our sleeping bags range from £10 which is a great deal at the moment so would definitely recommend while stock lasts.
Where are some of your favourite places to get outdoors in Leicestershire?
My personal favourite place in Leicestershire is Watermead Country Park in Birstall which has some amazing scenery and is a great peace to get some fresh air. I would also recommend Bradgate Park as again the country air is refreshing especially in this current time.
