Family run opticians, Henry Smith and Hamylton has been established in Leicester since 1887. To the present day they offer a high level service and fantastic range of designer glasses.
Over the Easter holiday Henry Smith and Hamylton will also be running a special treasure hunt around town. The event will run over 5 days from 11th April and they’ll will be releasing a new clue each day to help you find the voucher via their Instagram and TikTok. Keep checking every day before the final clue on the 16th April, the day before Easter Sunday.
We caught up with them to find out a little more for this week’s BID Spotlight.

As a 4th generation, family-run Independent Opticians established in 1887 in Leicester (just off Tudor Road), our family values and multi-generational experience separates us from other Opticians. We always try to create a warm, welcoming environment by sharing our knowledge and experience with our Patients with our hand-picked frame designs and bespoke lenses we try to offer something for everyone.
Tell us about the Easter hunt that you’re doing around town and what people can win?
There will be 5 Vouchers hidden in different locations around Leicester. 4 of the vouchers are 35% off the cost of a frame and the final voucher is a free pair of Rayban Sunglasses!
What are your favourite styles/brands you have in at the moment?
We adore the new Dior collection we have, the collection is always coming up with beautiful new designs suiting both High Fashion pieces to more classic Dior styles.
Our ANNU collection is ‘crazy light’ weight 3D printed eyewear, it is a unique brand designed and manufactured in Germany by a group of creatives. As the frames are 3D printed, there is minimal wastage which makes the frames much more ethical. We also love the Sea2See collection it is made entirely of recycled ocean plastic waste collected by fishermen. The founder who started the brand has totally revolutionised the industry. Annu & Sea2See exclusive to us in Leicester!
