Summer is almost in full swing and the rain hasn’t dampened our spirits! There are lots of interesting events taking place all over the city and here are our top event picks for this weekend.

This weekend, get yourselves down to the heart of Leicester’s Cultural Quarter for this year’s Indian Summer Festival. Based in Phoenix Square, this special two day festival guarantees to be a feast for the senses. A celebration of Indian culture, this non-profit venture offers you the chance to explore India’s roots and traditions, both old and new. With art exhibitions, photography, music, food and dance, you will be able to immerse yourself in true Indian culture. Top picks from the festival include Laughter Yoga and Ayurvedic workshops, Indian Head Massage, Mumbai Street Café and the showing of Sholay, a classic  piece of Indian cinema from 1975.

Summer Fair

After the huge success of their Christmas Fair, Clarendon Park are hosting their very own summer fair. Queens Road will be closed off and there will be over 50 stalls selling arts and crafts.  You can enjoy local entertainment ranging from live music and spoken word to fair ground rides for the kids. Local shops and businesses will be trading as usual, so you could even pop into Dos Hermanos for a refreshing Pimms or treat your Dad to a Father’s Day beer!
