One of Leicester’s must attend events of the year is back this month, as Ladies Day returns to Leicester Racecourse earlier than usual this year, taking place on Saturday 15 June.

With a fantastic line-up of music artists as well as a stacked racing programme, you are guaranteed an incredible day out. Ladies Day is usually held during July, but this year the prestigious fixture has moved to earlier in the season and will be held on Saturday 15 June.

Thinking of going along? Here are our top 5 things you need to know about this year’s Ladies Day.

1 – The Music

This year Leicester Racecourse has pulled out all the stops for a music line-up to remember. Especially if you were a 90s teenager. This year’s line-up is headlined by none other than Ronan Keating. The former boyband star will be closing the evening with a packed setlist of Boyzone and solo hits. Earlier in the day you’ll be able to party with huge boyband stars, Blue, as well as X Factor’s Rak-Su. Household name radio DJ, Chris Moyles, will also be on hand to present his Chris Moyles Hangover Show packed with your favourite hits, from The Rockefeller Skank to Parklife.

2 – Dress to Impress

Ladies Day really is an occasion to dig out your best dress. Not only do you want to be looking your finest for your photographs, but there is a Best Dressed competition running throughout the day. The competition will be hosted by Hits Radio’s Jo and Sparky with some fantastic prizes available. Time to find that fascinator!

3 – Arrive early

Whilst Ronan Keating might be finishing off the day’s event, the other acts will play earlier in the day before the racing. Doors open at midday and the live music will kick off with Rak-Su and Blue from 12.30pm. The racing will begin at around 5.45pm but don’t worry, there will be plenty of fun and entertainment to keep you going through the afternoon. Soak up the electric atmosphere, take a ride on the dodgems and enjoy a glass of Champagne.

4 – Enjoy the food & drink

Hospitality packages for Ladies Day may have sold out many weeks ago, but if you’re attending with a general admission ticket there will be plenty of options. With a variety of street food stalls you can look forward to a range of delicious dishes. PLUS alongside the usual bars at the racecourse there will also be additional pop-up champagne and cocktail bars.

5 – Book in advance

As one of the most popular events of the year, Ladies Day is almost sure to sell out. Don’t leave it until the last minute, make sure you snap up tickets in plenty of time for the big day. General admission tickets are on sale now priced at £45 per adult. Under 18s tickets are available priced at £25, but please note under 18s must be accompanied at all times. If any tickets do remain available on the gate, they will be priced at £60 (adult and under 18s) for payment and entry after midday on Saturday 15 June.

Ladies Day takes place on Saturday 15 June 2024. Book tickets online from Leicester-racecourse.com.
