Put it in your diaries – Urban Outfitters is opening in Highcross on Friday 5 September with a special launch event the evening before on Thursday 4 September. Yes, no more travelling to Nottingham and Birmingham for shopping, the new store is located in the Highcross Shopping Centre. Urban Outfitters Leicester is a fusion of unique visual displays using reclaimed materials and contemporary art. Offering a creative mix of the most up and coming men’s and women’s wear brands such as Cheap Monday, Obey, Dr Denim, Adidas and Native Rose. Alongside own label collections, accessories, footwear, home & media the store is a habitat for trend setters.
Urban Outfitters was formed in Philadelphia by Richard Haynes in 1970, as a hub to cater for students and their lifestyles from the neighbouring University of Pennsylvania later became ‘Urban Outfitters’ in 1976.The renovated industrial space – an aesthetic that has become synonymous with Urban stores – sparked the company’s rise from a small community-run store to a global network. Arriving in the UK with the opening of the London High Street Kensington store in June 1998, Urban Outfitters currently have 40 stand-alone stores across the UK & Europe.
