It’s the end of an era at Maiyango, but also the start of something wonderful and new! Leicester’s dining out scene is set for a major transformation this summer as the AA rosette restaurant at Maiyango closes its doors for the final time on 22 July 2017, before returning with an exciting, brand new concept restaurant in August 2017.
Over the years many of us here in Leicester have grown very fond of the fantastic restaurant, but there’s still time to enjoy it before the major changes take place this summer. Maiyango has organised a series of special tasting events in the restaurant before it officially closes. These include a Gin Dinner, a Wine Tasting Menu and Dessert and Cocktail Evenings.
The full listing of special events is as follows:
Cocktail Masterclass & Indulgent Desserts – Saturday 1 July
4 Course Tasting Menu paired with our Favourite Gins – Friday 7 July
Desserts & Cocktail Platters – Sunday 9 July
6 Course Wine Tasting Dinner – Wednesday 12 July & Wednesday 19 July
4 Course Tasting Menu paired with Iconic Cocktails – Thursday 13 July
The Best of Maiyango 6 course Tasting Evening – Friday 14 July, Saturday 15 July, Friday 21 July & Saturday 22 July
For further details and to book your place to enjoy Maiyango’s unique cuisine for the last time, visit www.maiyango.com or call 0116 251 88 98.
The new restaurant, when it opens, will be unique to Leicester city centre and will continue in the same location under the successful Maiyango brand. There will be a short period of refurbishment between the closure of the existing site and the opening of the new restaurant. During this time, Hotel Maiyango and the Tasting Room will continue to trade as usual.
During the last 12 years, Maiyango has won several awards including an AA Rosette Award for Culinary Excellence, has appeared in The Good Food Guide and was a national tourism award Gold winner in the Taste of England category in the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence. Maiyango has also catered for the Queen, Duke of Edinburgh and the Duchess of Cambridge during the Diamond Jubilee royal visit to Leicester.
