With the new year upon us there’s plenty to look forward to as we move into 2021.

From restaurant openings to events, we’ve got every finger crossed for a much brighter year. In our last BID Spotlight of the year we’re running through a few things that we can get excited for in Leicester.

February just wouldn’t be February without Leicester Comedy Festival. The event will absolutely be back in 2021! Promoters and venues across the city have pulled together a fantastic programme of both online and in person events so that everybody is able to get involved. You can view the latest event programme over on the Comedy Festival website.

East Street Fitness

East Street Lanes is set to open a brand new fitness facility. Transforming their in house East Street Events space will be a boutique and modern gym area hosting classes and equipment. Expect nightclub lighting and an epic sound system to make your fitness journey as fun as possible. There’s also set to be a co-working space opening within the venue too. King Richard III

The King Richard III pub on Highcross Street is set to re-open in the new year. The city centre pub underwent a refurbishment under the previous owners and since the new management took over they’ve not been able to open their doors due to Covid. Ideally located near Highcross it’s a perfect post-shopping drink stop. We’re certainly looking forward to a visit as soon as we can.
