There’s a new foodie addition in Clarendon Park as Zoka, a new Japanese inspired takeaway, has opened on Leicester’s Queens Road this week.

Zoka has been launched from the team behind Wicked Burger on Queens Road. They’ve built a separate kitchen upstairs to cater for the new cuisine, and dishes will be available through Deliveroo and UberEats, or by ordering in store at Wicked to take away with you.

They describe Zoka as “Japanese inspired health bowls”. Dishes come on a bed of sticky rice, which can be substituted for Forbidden Rice (nutrient dense black rice) or Ancient Grains (mixed quinoa and couscous), with a range of different toppings and sauces available. Choose from the Gunpowder Bowl, Donburi Bowl, Zen Bowl, Buddha Bowl or Golden Dragon Bowl, with flavours ranging from Japanese teriyaki to sweet creamy coconut and peanut butter.

All sauces are made in house and toppings include chicken, beef, salmon, king prawns, tofu, roasted squash, umami aubergine and more.

Owners say Zoka was developed to create a community focused on personal health, wellness and connection. The menu focuses on nutrient-rich and balanced meals, whilst taking inspiration for different cultures.

The soft launch taster menu is available to view below, with further dishes due to be added over the coming weeks.

Zoka will be based at 70 Queens Road and you can follow them on Instagram @eatzoka for more information.
