As half term rolls round and many businesses are back open, where will you be taking the little ones in Leicester this week?
Here are some of our top tips.
East Street Lanes
The city centre boutique bowling alley is a cool hangout for kids and grownups alike. They’re open from 11am throughout half term with the family package available for 2 adults and 2 children for £29.95. Kids can also enjoy their delicious shakes whilst you settle down with a beer or cocktail. Book via the East Street Lanes website.
Enjoy the thrill of Formula 1 racing or pilot your own fighter plane at Leicester Simulations. The venue on Cank Street has the best simulator experiences around and is a perfect stop off in town for you and the kids during half term. Plus you’re right by St Martin’s Square to stop off for lunch and dinner too. See more info and how to book via the Leicester Simulations website.
Treetop Adventure Golf
Always a winner with kids of all ages, Treetop Adventure Golf at Highcross offers a brilliant rainforest inspired mini golf experience. Their early bird offer is running throughout half term and you can settle down to enjoy pizzas and drinks before or after your game. No bookings, just turn up and tee off, but you can find all the venue info on the Treetop Adventure Golf website.
Get behind the wheel and race the kids around the track. TeamSport Karting in Thurmaston is brilliant for family fun. Younger kids from 8+ years can take one of the children’s karts, whilst those aged 12+ can use the adult karts. The circuit runs over 2 levels and if you’re looking for an adrenaline rush, this is it. Book via the TeamSport Karting website.
Hello Lamp Post
Get the kids out exploring the city this week and have a go at the Hello Lamp Post trail. The trail is part of the Art-AI Festival and allows you to interact with landmarks around Leicester by texting and talking to them. Landmarks include the King Richard III statue, the War Memorial, New Walk Museum and more. Plus, if you have the LoyalFree app, every time you scan into a location you’ll be entered in a monthly prize draw to win a £50 Leicester Gift Card. Get the full info via the Art-AI website.
Congo Crazy Golf
The Congo River Adventure Crazy Golf is based at Blaby Golf Course and underwent a huge refurbishment in 2019 with all-new features, obstacles and life-sized animals. It is a hit for all and guarantees a fantastic day out. The course is packed full of exciting features such as abandoned camps, aircraft & vehicles wreckages and bridges across water. Visit the Blaby Golf Course website for full info.
Get ready for some bouncing action as Boost Leicester is open daily throughout half term and has extra family sessions programmed in every day. It’s a perfect city centre fun stop and has on site cafe facilities for any parents who’d rather sit on the balcony and watch their little ones rather than getting in on the trampolining action. Book via the Boost Leicester website.
