Fun Lovin’ Criminals – Wednesday 7 September
O2 Academy Leicester
FLC are Europe’s best-loved “cousins from New York”, whip-smart story-tellers in smarter Saville Row suits who, through comically tall tales of living large in the neon metropolis via music, drugs, crime and existential ennui, launched a career in music. The bands current lineup – Brian Fast Leiser on lead vocals, bass, keys, horns, harp and programming. Frank Benbini on drums, percussion and vocals. Naim Cortazzi on guitar and vocals.
The Xcerts – Saturday 17 September
The Shed
Searing Scottish indie band making heavy soul-fuelled rock influenced by the likes of The Smiths and The Clash. With a punky, psychedelic feel to their music, The Xcerts sound is both truly original and consistently passionate. Expect fervent live shows and arena-sized tunes.
Tricot – Saturday 17 September
Firebug
Tricot are made up of three female founding members: Ikkyu Nakajima (vocals and guitar), Motoko ‘Motifour’ Kida (guitar and backing vocals), and Hiromi ‘Hirohiro’ Sagane (bass and backing vocals). The band formed in the historical Japanese city of Kyoto in 2010. Their experimental music primarily consists of melodic post-rock-inspired sounds and complex rhythm reminiscent of math rock. Tricot’s live performances vibrant and intense and they have been highly praised by fans and media.

The Headliners
Kiko Bun
Raised on a diet of classical, salsa and hip hop, it was eventually the sun-soaked sounds of reggae that became his musical love. He mixes his deep love of Jamaican roots music with the sound of modern London bass culture. Kiko got a lucky break being asked to record a cover of Toots and Maytals’ ’54-46 Was My Number’ for the Channel 4 drama series ‘This Is England ’90’ and has gone on to sign to the legendary Island Records label, home of course to, amongst others, Bob Marley.
The King Brasstards
Inspired by the sounds of the streets of New Orleans, seven Leicester lads make up King Brasstards – featuring a mighty sousaphone, percussion & much more.
The Haggis Horns
Authentic James Brown-style 70s style soul-funk with horns and Hammonds a-plenty. Besides their own gigs, they’ve also been Mark Ronson’s horn section. Mr Ronson isn’t alone in his high opinion of The Haggis Horns. Over the last few years they have lent their lungs to recordings and live shows for everyone from Corinne Bailey Rae and Amy Winehouse to Nightmares On Wax and Lou Donaldson.
Brew Beat is free entry across the weekend. For the full line-up and timings visit the website.
