The Shed
LaVire is a 4-piece heavy rock band from Lincoln. Drawing influence from major arena artists of the last few decades, and with an emphasis on composition and song-craft, they bear comparison to the likes of Halestorm, Biffy Clyro and Muse, to name a few. Always putting the song first and striving to engage the listener, they bring colour, melody, harmony and depth to traditional rock songwriting; never afraid to experiment or bring new flavours to the mix, while still drawing from their influences with pride.
Grandma’s House – Thursday 16 March
Duffy’s Bar
Bristol-based, queer punk-trio, Grandma’s House, are known for their fast and raucous guitar riffs, thumping bass lines and aggressive drums. Combining their love of post-punk with surfy melodies, Grandmas House have created a captivating sound that grabs you right by the throat. With vocals compared to artists ranging from The Raincoats to Motörhead and described musically as a mix between Courtney Barnett and The Slits, the original, fresh sound coming from this band is undeniable.

FOCUS ON: Kamakase
Rising UK hip hop artist Kamakaze has just released his latest single Le Ville. The track from the Leicester based signer also has a special little local twist!
Accompanying the release of Le Ville, Kamakaze has also dropped a stunning music video, which tells the story of a fox living in the heart of Leicester City. The video, shot by filmmaker Matt Guest, captures the essence of the city which provided inspiration for the song.
Kamakaze has been steadily building a devoted following with his unique blend of gritty, emotive lyrics with infectious, hard-hitting beats. Le Ville is no exception, showcasing the rapper’s trademark flow and incisive wordplay over a haunting, atmospheric instrumental.
The single was produced by collaborator Jordan Antonino Parrello, and features an eerie, hypnotic rhythm that perfectly complements Kamakaze’sraw, introspective rhymes. The track touches on themes of urban decay and social injustice, highlighting the artist’s unflinching commitment to speaking truth to power.
With his razor-sharp lyricism, Kamakaze is quickly establishing himself as one of the most exciting voices in UK hip hop. Le Ville is a powerful statement of intent from an artist who shows no signs of slowing down.
“At the heart of Kamakaze’s music is a self-awareness that is admirable but does not always make for comfortable listening because there is a need, as he stresses throughout our conversation, to ‘be real.’” – Mirror
