After weekend and holiday options with the kids? When we heard about the new attraction at Warwick Castle we couldn’t wait to find out what it was all about.

A new, permanent and free to enter attraction is opening at Warwick Castle! It was on a cloudy March day that we set off to see what it was all about, with the three kids in tow – Harry (age 10), Linc (age 8) and Nell (age 2 ½ ).

The Time Tower is advertised as “an immersive audio visual multimedia experience capturing the essence of Warwick Castle’s rich and vibrant history“.

The Time Tower is staged in three parts. The first is an atmospheric video trip back in time introducing the people who lived in the castle, from Saxon Queen to Victorian Earl. This theme continues in the second room, where a 3D model of the castle illustrates how the castle has developed and changed through time – look for the puff of smoke when the castle catches fire! Linc thought the third part was best, where there were lots of Hogwarts style pictures.

Other attractions kept us all occupied for the rest of the day. The flight of the eagles was “really good” according to Harry and Linc, though Nell took that as an opportunity to play on Mummy’s phone. She was too tired after meeting Mike the Knight! There was a medieval peasant from horrible histories with especially manky teeth(!), who even managed to get harry to join in a quiz ‘guess the punishment to fit the medieval crime’!

All in all, a very enjoyable day out

Family ticket £64.80
