Ok, it’s Saturday night and you’re sat round wondering where to go this evening right? Well fear not because here are our top tips.

The Musician

If its good enough for you it’s good enough for me” – remember it? Of course you do, those pesky 90s indie-popsters Dodgy are at The Musician this evening. Support comes from top local acts Produkty and Soundtrack. Tickets are available on the door so get down there early. If you’re sat there scratching your head wondering what else they sang, they did Staying Out For The Summer too!

New bars

It’s always good to try out somewhere new on a Saturday night. Now, if you haven’t been over to Hakamou yet then definitely check it out. It’s a little Hawaiian paradise right in the centre of town (on Bowling Green Street in the old Barristers bar). Also just opened is Uba, which is situated in the old Showrooms building on Charles Street. Uba is open until 4am and will be playing the best in disco, chart and r ‘n’ b. However the main pulling point is that it’s free entry all night and between 5pm -10pm all drinks, yes ALL drinks, are 2 for 1! Also if that kind of music floats your boat then Fusion on Belvoir Street is having a re-opening party this evening!  It’s worth going down for the fact that if you mention the Facebook event for the re-opening then you’ll get your drinks for 1/2 price (valid between 7pm – 9pm).

The Soundhouse

Another gig for you. The Small Fakers, UK’s leading Small Faces tribute band are hitting Leicester this evening and will be playing at The Soundhouse. The gig is 14+, £9 tickets and it all kicks off at 8pm.

The Auditorium

If you fancy a big all nighter then The Auditorium is kicking off their Big, Bad ‘n’ Heavy Drum & Bass launch night this evening! £10 advance tickets have sold out but you can buy tickets on the door for £15 (I didn’t know clubs could charge that much in Leicester). The party’s on until 6am so make sure you have a nap before you go out. Oh and no tracksuits kids, they won’t let you in!

Don’t fancy drinking?

You don’t have to drink and dance until dawn for a good night out. For something altogether different you can go and catch the mighty Leicester Riders playing Plymouth Raiders. The game is at John Sandford Sports Centre (De Montfort Uni gym) and starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £11 (£7 concessions and children) and there will be refreshments available throughout.

Obviously all of your other favourite bars will be open as usual so let us know where you end up going! Have a goodun’!
