If you missed out on the first Leicestershire Forest | Feast | Flame event, don’t worry. They’re back on Saturday 26 June and tickets are on sale now.

If the first event is anything to go by this will be a truly stunning evening. If you follow us on social media you’ll have seen us raving about how wonderful this unique forest dining experience was.

So what’s it about? Bål presents a festival of open fire cooking, cocktails, craft beer and acoustic music all beside the campfire & set amongst magical ancient woodland on the fringes of Ashby De La Zouch. The site is a great space with cover, pop-up woodland bar and a cosy campfire feel.

The chefs have created another smorgasbord of the finest local produce prepared in a blend of traditional and indigenous cooking techniques all over wood fired, open flames. The food on the first event ranged from wild garlic stuffed lamb breast to woodfired pancakes with ember baked apples, and we’d expect the second instalment to be just as impressive.

Your ticket includes four beautifully crafted courses from a wide menu. It’s all seasonal ingredients selected right before the event but will include some incredible dishes such as lamb barbacoa, smoked pork belly and  BBQ smoked vegetables.

You will be greeted into the forest pop up restaurant with a glass of chilled English sparkling wine (included within your ticket) and the bartenders have created a unique cocktail menu made using foraged ingredients which will be available alongside local craft beers, natural & local wines and champagne.
