The best places to go for a date in Leicester continues to be one of the most searched terms that leads people to Cool As Leicester, so we thought it was about time we updated our list for 2020.

Are you looking for somewhere special to woo a first date? Looking to impress someone? Or just want somewhere you can enjoy a memorable evening. Here’s our guide to those must visit places.

East Street Lanes

Want to bowl someone over? Here’s the perfect place. Leicester’s only boutique bowling alley is a perfect date destination! See if either of you score a perfect ten and then afterwards you can challenge them to a race in the arcade area. Order drinks to your lane and then also enjoy the cozy bar surroundings afterwards for a cocktail or bite to eat. The best bit? If the date is going really well then Caddyshackers is only a few steps away for you to suggest carrying on the fun! Book via the website.

The Merchant of Venice

If you’re meeting in the afternoon and want to pick somewhere cute and lovely then pop by The Merchant of Venice on Granby Street. With swing seats in the windows and authentic Italian touches it’s an intimate spot that’ll be sure to impress your coffee date.

Bean Gaming

If you’re worried you’ll get nervous and not know what to talk about or if you just want something different to do then take them over to Bean Gaming on Silver Street. With hundreds of different board games to choose from you can make the date as long or short as you want (maybe don’t choose Monopoly for the first date). Staff are on hand to talk you through how to play each game and you can enjoy food and drink whilst you’re there too. Keep up to date via Facebook.

63rd & First

Going out in the evening and want somewhere to impress your date? Head to 63rd & First on Highcross Street. The bar may be tiny but it’s perfectly formed and the cocktails are fabulous. With the bar setting being so intimate there’s a real personal touch to the service, so be sure to wow your date with your cocktail choices. Keep up to date via Facebook.

Treetop Adventure Golf

For another activity based date head to Treetop Adventure Golf at Highcross and enjoy 18 holes before making your way through the jungle themed cocktail menu. Of course it can be busy with families at weekends but is a definite date hit in the evenings. Whoever loses buys the first round! Find out more via the website.

Charnwood Forest Alpacas

If they don’t find the idea of going to walk alpacas adorable then why are you even dating them? Get up close and personal with the alpacas on a 90 minute walk experience, load up with alpaca feed and grab some memorable photos. Afterwards you can head to the on site Chilli Bean Cafe to discuss how cute all your pictures are. More info on the website.

Knight & Garter brunch

TeamSport Karting

Race them to the finish line at TeamSport Karting. Just outside the city centre the multi-level track is sure to get your adrenaline running. Get your racewear on and see who makes it to the chequered flag first. They also have an on site licensed bar for a pit stop afterwards. Find out more and book via the website.

With so many great pubs to choose from it was hard to know which to recommend but the bar snack selection at The Two Tailed Lion clinched it!
