Who’s a fan of shopping at The Wardrobe on Silver Street? Leicester’s longest running vintage clothing shop also stocks an excellent range of current brands, and one in particular, Run & Fly.

The Wardrobe has been around for as long as we can remember. In fact they first opened in 1988 in the Silver Arcade, before relocating in 2001. Their vintage collection varies for each season, ranging from Levi denim jackets and shorts, classic Fred Perry polos, 60s dresses, 80s/90s shirts, flannel shirts, USA college sweatshirts and loads more!

One of the more current brands they stock is Run & Fly. You might have spotted their unique dungarees and dresses in store or online! We’re particularly fans of their amazing dinosaur and fox prints.

An awful lot of Run & Fly’s clothing is made right here in Leicester, all made in sweat shop free factories. With such care going into every piece of clothing, their dungarees on average from start to finish take up to three weeks to be made. So whilst they accept they aren’t the cheapest, no corners are cut.

Now the really great bit. Run & Fly cut all of their own material for the clothing before it’s sent to the factories and all the offcuts are given to a primary school in Leicester for their art projects.

Run & Fly has in fact been around since the 1980s and they continue to make all items in short runs to minimise waste. Despite demand they’ve never mass produced products and keep their sustainability values at the very heart of what they do.

A fantastic local business! You can shop online via the Run & Fly website or you can also shop through The Wardrobe online shop.
