Acoustic acts, listen up! Former Mansun frontman Paul Draper is coming to Leicester to play at The Cookie on Saturday 17 November and he wants to give YOU the chance to support him.
Paul will be performing tracks from his debut solo album Spooky Action, as well as Mansun classics and deep cuts.
Wanting the shows to be an intimate affair he is running a competition to find a local support at each town to perform a half hour acoustic set before he goes on stage.
Paul commented, “Back at the height of Britpop, my band Mansun ran a competition to give a local band a support slot on every gig of our biggest UK tour, playing to 50,000 people. Once again I am in a position, on my first national solo acoustic tour, to offer a local artist an opportunity to join the bill of my acoustic show in each of the 8 towns and cities I’m visiting in November. I have no doubt the competition will be red hot and the artists of a high calibre to play at these packed out shows. My management and I really look forward to judging entries from the locality of each gig and welcome the winner in each town to our show. It will be an exciting few weeks ahead judging the abundance of talent I know we’re going to see”
