Nothing quite beats a spa day for ensuring you manage a little relaxation. A chance to switch off, pamper yourself, indulge in some fine cuisine and maybe, if the weather’s nice, enjoy some sunshine. Sounds like bliss, doesn’t it? Well lucky for us here in Leicestershire we have one of the very finest spas in the country on our doorstep at Ragdale Hall.

Located over near Melton Mowbray I fail to see how a visit to Ragdale could every disappoint. From the moment you arrive with the sweeping driveway, grand entrance and warm welcome, through to the decor, the well equipped gym, the knowledgable and friendly staff and the fabulous food, the whole experience is a pleasure.

In terms of treatments, during your visit to Ragdale you can treat yourself to everything from a pedicure to a back massage, or perhaps you’d rather get your hair done or have a beauty treatment? They have the facilities for all. These can be pre-booked or simply request once you’ve arrived.

Perhaps one of the things that really sets Ragdale apart from the other spas is their dedication to innovation. Not content with enjoying the success and popularity, the owners are always looking for new ways to improve and impress, and this year they’ve opened a fabulous new addition with their rooftop infinity pool. Ragdale already boasted a wonderful swimming facility with an outdoor waterfall pool, a further outdoor pool in the front gardens, a Thermal Spa including Candle Pool and a series of heat and water experiences, but the new rooftop infinity pool certainly adds an extra edge. Access through the indoor swimming pool you can enjoy the warm water and the fresh breeze as you sit high above the ground below. The perfect spot to unwind with friends, or simply to soak up the view.

But of course relaxation is always best when accompanied by some fine food and whilst Ragdale is a “health spa”, there’s still a wonderful offering of cuisines for those on day or overnight package. From the 3 course lunch in the dining room to the all day cafe facility in the Verandah bar, you certainly need never go hungry. The food caters for those who want to stay on the healthy side, as well as offering plenty of those who fancy a splurge on their diet (they even have plenty of cake available in the Verandah Bar). And of course, you can have a drink. Why not treat the table to a bottle of Prosecco over lunch? There’s nothing quite like enjoying bubbles whilst you’re still in a bath robe.

The Verandah Bar

Or if you’re keen to use the time to burn off this calories, Ragdale offers over 18 different gym classes (including one set to Musicals, I might add), as well as aqua aerobics and more. Put quite simply, there’s no reason to get bored when you’re in such a wonderful setting.

Thermal Spa

Ragdale offers a range of Day Spa packages from a full day (8.30am – 6pm) to the Twilight package, which offers a later 4.30pm arrival and dinner, as well a overnight stays in their modern and super well-equipped bedrooms.
