There’s a new kid on the coffee block and they’re set to raise the caffeine bar in Leicester. The Coffee Counter is based on Bowling Green Street and will be opening in early July.
Originally opening as a base for their coffee supply company earlier in 2016, The Coffee Counter roast their own coffee on site and will now be opening to the public as a brand new coffee shop. The coffee is exquisite and definitely is a must visit for those who know their beans. Always offering multiple options, the team at The Coffee Counter are always happy to discuss with customers which coffee will best suit their taste. Whether you want a strong caffeine boost, or prefer to try a sweeter shot, they’ll be able to guide you to the perfect blend.
We’ve tried the coffee as well and can absolutely vouch for the taste. Not sure where to start? Go for their Flat White.
With the new coffee shop the roastery will be on open view to customers and The Coffee Counter put all of their emphasis on the quality of what they produce, sourcing only the finest 100% Arabica green coffee beans.
Owner, Ariyan, is passionate about his coffee and that’s evident throughout conversation with him. “We love coffee and the variety of tastes that are possible from some beans would surprise a lot of people. We want to bring that range of speciality coffee to Leicester and look forward to welcoming everyone into the new venue.”
The Coffee Counter is opening at 23 Bowling Green Street, which was previously the site of Ariyan’s family’s restaurant Babylonia, which had a long successful history as Leicester’s finest Greek restaurant. The family’s connection to the venue is evident and it’s fantastic to see Ariyan able to continue their history of family business on Bowling Green Street.
The venue inside has an impressive layout with smart decor, modern lighting from a local Leicester designer and customers can expect to find some sweet treats from some of the finest local Leicester bakers as well. There are a number of plans afoot for events in the venue as well as some tasty sounding cold brews for throughout the summer.
If you’re passing down Bowling Green Street you’ll see the site almost ready to launch so make sure you’re following us at @coolasleicester to find out when they’re ready for you to pop in.
