There’s a new addition to Leicester’s Bottomless Brunch scene as Drag Brunch comes to the Rainbow & Dove. And it’s fabulous.
Drag Brunch has become a popular must attend event in other cities and The Rainbow & Dove doesn’t disappoint with their monthly offering. Hosted by Miss Fanny Burns, you can expect 2 hours of laughing, fun and plenty (yes, plenty) of flowing drinks.
It’s fair to say the team at The Rainbow are putting a new meaning to the bottomless in bottomless brunch with their excellent drink service. Having Prosecco? Here, have a bottle. Want a cocktail? We’ll bring you two. Trust us, if you’ve not had your fill of chosen drinks at the end of the brunch, you only have yourself to blame.
As for the entertainment, Fanny Burns is a wonderful host throughout the event. From Drag Bingo to belting out some classic hits, my face ached from laughing so much. Regular bingo just doesn’t seem the same now, without shouting out “my fanny’s burning” when you’re one number away.
On arrival you’re given a welcome cocktail and a photo quiz sheet to kick off the event before settling down for more drinks and entertainment. There’s full table service for the drinks, which was really quick and efficient too. In terms of the food you’ll receive a menu before the event to pre-order your chosen main dish, these are brought out towards the start of the event. Options included burgers, hot dogs, salads and other lunchtime dishes. I’d recommend something that soaks up the alcohol.
You can choose from standard entry or a VIP option, which gives you 60 minutes extra drinking time before the event and 30 minutes extra at the end. You’ll also enjoy a choice of Prosecco, premium cocktails (go for the Gin Fizz), sprits and beers (bottled or draught). Standard tickets include unlimited Prosecco, bottled beer, wine, house cocktails and soft drinks.
The next Drag Brunch is set to be held on Saturday 5 March and will be St Patrick’s Day themed. Tickets will be on sale soon with early bird tickets priced at £30. VIP tickets are priced at £45 but include a fantastic drinks selection for a massive 3.5 hours… if you can handle it.
