The Leicester Riders Foundation JNBL Academy is proud to announce its 7th Annual Trials event is now open for registrations. This is an exciting opportunity for all aspiring hoopers in Leicester and Leicestershire to showcase their talents for a chance to represent the Leicester Riders Foundation JNBL Academy in the 2020/21 season.
The Leicester Riders Foundation JNBL Academy is now entering its 7th season as part of the Leicester Riders elite performance pathway. Since forming in 2014, last season saw the return of Girls basketball and the revival of the LRF JNBL Girls Academy. With over 120 players and 12 teams, the LRF JNBL Academy provides expert coaching and the opportunity to compete at the highest level of Junior competition in the country.
Teams train twice-a-week and play fixtures on weekends, as well as various other regional tournaments and competitions. Head of the LRF JNBL Academy, Tahir Hajat, is excited about welcoming new talent to the club. ”The COVID-19 break came as a surprise to the whole basketball community and I believe it has brought the community closer together. A chance to take a step back and review how far we have come. The current academy players have been raring to go and will also be trialling alongside new players this season. Myself and the coaching team are thrilled to open registrations and begin to get things back to the new normal. We look forward to welcoming new and returning players back to the Morningside Arena.”
By registering your interest you will be the first to receive information about the dates and times. All players that attend the event will be given the opportunity to play more basketball. Players of all abilities are welcome.
