Outdoor cinema is back in Leicester city centre this August as part of An Indian Summer.

Film lovers can enjoy the iconic Bollywood blockbuster, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and every family’s favourite The Jungle Book, which will be the original animation. The screenings will take place in Green Dragon Square on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 August.

Following a sell-out event in the city in 2019, An Indian Summer is excited to return to Leicester with two big-screen productions that won’t disappoint. Visitors can expect to watch the films on a 20 sq metre outdoor screen.

That’s not all. Event-goers can tuck into delicious food from local restaurants as part of the city’s Dine in the Square experience complete with table service using a QR code. There will also be live performances from international dance and entertainment icon Shiamak.

A number of global and regional partners have been responsible for bringing the outdoor cinema back to Leicester including Sony TV, Yash Raj Films, BID Leicester and Leicester City Council.

To ensure all government guidelines around Covid-19 are adhered to, event organisers at Inspirate will guide attendees to their dedicated seating area. Hand sanitizer stations will also be set up.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive 45 minutes before the film screening, allowing enough time for everyone to be seated and enjoy the entertainment on offer.

Tickets are on sale now and guaranteed seating can be provided for a small reservation fee of £3.50 per person to ensure you have allocated space on the day. Tickets are on sale now via Eventbrite.
