We all need a holiday right now even if it can’t be abroad. Last week we took a trip to the North Norfolk coast to discover some of the best foodie spots to visit.
The north Norfolk coast is one of my favourite places, plus it’s about the easiest coast to get to from Leicester at less than 2.5 hours drive. It’s packed with beautiful places to visit and most importantly there are some cracking places to eat and drink, especially if you like seafood.
It you’re planning a Norfolk trip this summer get these places in your planner.
The White Horse, Brancaster Staithe – One of our favourite places to visit of anywhere. It’s fabulous. The restaurant and terrace get super booked up but they have a new outside Marshside Bar which takes walk-ins only. Incredible seafood (so fresh you see the fishermen bringing it in), fab views and nice drinks selection. Open daytime and evening. We’ve previously stayed in the hotel here too – if you can get manage a room snap it up! 2 AA Rosettes, previously won awards for UK’s best pub and best seafood restaurant.
Rocky Bottoms – A little further along the coast in West Runton (between Sheringham and Cromer). A brilliant spot with indoor and outdoor seating, a fabulous seafood menu including lobster, crab salad, large prawns and more, and beaut sea views. Open daytime only and walk-ins only. There’s also an on site Rocky Bottoms shop for plenty of prepared seafood and crab sandwiches to take away.
No1 Cromer – Award winning fish & chip restaurant opened by Michelin starred chef, Galton Blackiston. Views overlooking Cromer Pier, proper traditional fish & chips but done really well! And the wildly unnecessary addition of a wedge of deep fried brie on the side!
All 3 of these were listed by The Times in their list of top places to eat by the sea and it’s easy to see why!
