With Christmas done and dusted, there’s just New Year’s Eve left of the festive period before we all have to return to normality. So what events are happening in Leicester? We’ve pulled together a few of the best around town.
Annie Mac and Tim Westwood at LeicesterFest
Club Republic and Blueprint are joining together for a massive party for New Year with Annie Mac and Tim Westwood live. Tickets are still available from the LeicesterFest website starting at £35. 9pm right through until 5am.
Geordie Shore at Jukebox
See in the new year with Scotty T, Aaron Chalmers and Gaz Beadle from Geordie Shore as they party at Jukebox on Jubilee Square. Organisers have promised that they’ll be mingling through the bar throughout the night so head down there for some real Geordie fun. Last few tickets available priced at £15 from Eventbrite.
80s & 90s party at The Parcel Yard

Brew Years Eve at Tap in the Square
Kicking off at 5pm with the Big Fat Quiz of the Beer, win yourself a free round to kick start your night.
From 7pm expect fantastic hop tails (beer cocktails) from The Urban Alchemist, including an Espresso Martini made with Beavertown’s Imperial Stout ‘Spresso, amazing Indian street food from Goody Gujarati, plus Myoptik on the decks with the best hip-hop, jazz and blue. Of course there’ll also be the best fresh and rare craft beers that you’d expect from Tap in the Square, plus 23 Wine & Whisky’s selection of the finest gin, whisky, vodka, rum and bubbly. Plug at Firebug
The silent disco is back upstairs at Firebug with a night to suit all the different musical tastes amongst your friends. 3 different DJs and absolutely no music policy, just put on your headphones and choose your channel. £10 deposit for your headphones with £5 returned. From 10pm to 4am and Firebug remains open as normal downstairs.
New Years Eve Midnight Circus at The Musician
See in the New Year with a bang as Leicester’s famous Musician Pub transforms into The Midnight Circus. Expect to see mad jesters, mindbending magicians, fearless fire dancers, devilish drag queens, bearded ladies and some of the very finest music Leicester city has to offer. The evening, brought to you by Forty Tenth Promotions & The Brandy Thieves, includes a line up featuring The Brandy Thieves, Goldwater, The Siobhan Mazzei Band and Dan White. £1000 Cash Drop at Venom
As the countdown begins and the clock strikes midnight, Venom will be dropping balloons from the roof with prizes inside including up to £1000 in cash. Could you be one of the lucky ones? DJ Alex Miles is on the decks with house, r n b, hip hop and club classics, open from 10.30pm – 4am and free entry if you’re on the guest list. Feliz Ano Nuevo at Bodega
No tickets, no fuss, no set menus, just a fun dinner out with friends? If that sounds up your street then get yourself a table at Bodega on St Martin’s Square for new year. The South American restaurant (who do the best nachos in Leicester and some crazy good tacos and burritos) will have a salsa, bachata, reggaeton and samba soundtrack for your evening with 2 cocktails for £8 right through until past midnight. Bottomless Prosecco at 45 St Martin’s
Fancy a more classy affair? The beautiful 45.
