Give Leicester is a way to donate money to help address homelessness in Leicester, with a guarantee that your money goes towards supporting people who are, or have recently been, homeless in the city.
Since its introduction, Give Leicester has raised significant amounts of money to support those who face homelessness in the city. You’ll find Give Leicester donation points at locations all over the city centre, including bars, cafes, shop windows, offices, and both university campuses. Making donating easier than even, you simply tap your credit card, debit card or phone to the contactless point in the middle of the vinyl window to donate £3 per tap. If you’re feeling generous, multiple taps make multiple payments.
With donation points well received in shop and venue windows, BID Leicester has now introduced a range of bar top donation points to make it simple to donate when enjoying Leicester’s nightlight.
These new bar top donation points can be found at venues including Firebug, Tonne, The Marquis Wellington, The Globe, Apres Lounge, The Queen of Bradgate, The Exchange Bar, Cafe No.7, The Real Ale Classroom, and more.
By tapping your card on the point once you will donate £3 that will go directly to Help The Homeless Leicester, who provide relief and assistance to those facing homelessness or rough sleeping in Leicester and the surrounding areas. The organisation’s approach includes giving material aid, signposting to services, housing and employment support, emergency accommodations, and ongoing assistance for individuals after securing housing. The charity also aims to boost self-esteem, empower individuals, and encourage independent living through trusted relationships.
Give Leicester was set up by BID Leicester and Leicester City Council working in partnership with Leicester Homelessness Charter.
