Leicester Restaurant Week: Where to go

The first Leicester Restaurant Week is just around the corner, taking place across town from Monday 18th – Sunday 24th October.

With so many different places to visit we’ve taken a look at some of the best deals to keep an eye out for.

For all venues it’s recommended to book in advance and mention that you’re booking for their Leicester Restaurant Week offer. You’ll need to take along a voucher for your chosen venue with you, which you can download from the Leicester Restaurant Week website.

Date Night

Knight & Garter

Always a favourite of ours, throughout Leicester Restaurant Week Knight & Garter is offering a fixed price 3 course menu for £20. With the menu featuring favourites including scallops and wild mushrooms & truffle butter, it’s the perfect excuse to visit.

Sonrisa

Arguably Leicester’s hottest restaurant opening of 2021, Sonrisa will be offering 3 Platitos for £20 from their Leicester Restaurant Week menu. Wild prawns, wild mushroom croquettes, garbanzos and more, order a few cocktails and enjoy a tasting evening to remember.

Orton’s Brasserie

Orton’s Brasserie are showcasing their talent during the week with different special dishes on each evening, accompanied by suggested drink pairings. Enjoy Monkfish with Coto de Mayor Rioja Blanco, Venison with Nieto Senetiner Argentinian Malbec and more.

Bodega

One of our favourite casual date night spots, Bodega has the perfect Leicester Restaurant Week menu for 2. You can take your pick of any 2 street food dishes and any 2 cocktails for £20. (We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again… best nachos in Leicester).

Loka Bar

For a fancy date night at a ridiculously affordable price get booked into Loka Bar on Granby Street. Blanc at 76 is currently serving from Wednesday – Friday at Loka, offering a 5 course fine dining menu, which is available for just £20 per person during Restaurant Week.

Phoenix

Why not tie in dinner with a movie? Phoenix is offering any meal off their specials board with a beer, wine or soft drink for £14. If you’ve not seen the new Bond yet you can catch that next week too!

Lunch

Orso

A lovely coffee shop in the centre of town, pop to Orso to enjoy any food dish, coffee and a juice for just £10.

St Martin’s Coffee

If you’re taking the kids into town during half term then get St Martin’s Coffee on your list. They have 2 sandwiches (including their famous Cuban and Triple Grilled Cheese) and 2 kids meals available for just £20.

Giggling Squid

Available from 12pm – 5pm every day throughout Restaurant Week enjoy a 3 course meal for just £19.95 at the hugely popular Thai restaurant, Giggling Squid in St Martin’s Square.

Dama Rose

Enjoy a lunchtime or afternoon with a difference and book in for Dama Rose’s Arabic afternoon tea. This beauty is priced at only £20 for 2 people.

Queen of Bradgate

If you follow us on socials you’ll know what fans we are of the food at Queen of Bradgate. You can enjoy 2 courses for £14.95 or 3 courses for £19.95 right through Restaurant Week, with the menu featuring favourites such as honey glazed chorizo, wild mushroom risotto and more.

The Tree

There’s a brand new menu at The Tree and they’re launching it straight into Leicester Restaurant Week. Enjoy your choice of chicken or halloumi kebab along with one of their nibble selections (those harissa pork belly bites look special), plus a mojito for £17.50. Available every day lunchtime and evening.

The Globe

If you’re after proper pub grub then get The Globe on your list. The food here never disappoints and is full of winter warmers and pub classics, from pies and burgers to pork belly in cider sauce. 2 courses for £15.95 and 3 courses for £18.95 available all week.

Wygston’s House

If we were to create our dream menu the starters would include scotch egg and burrata, so Wygston’s House is right up near the top of our go to list. Enjoy 2 or 3 courses (£15 and £20) with mains including Moules Frites and their house burger.

One of Leicester’s most popular steakhouses, 1573 at Highcross is running a fixed price menu for £20 all week. Enjoy butterfly prawns, steak, cheesecake and more.

Rutland & Derby

We love this offer from The Rutland & Derby, because when you can’t choose between a burger, poutine or wings, what you really want is a platter offering all 3. Enjoy a Street Food Collective Tasting Platter with your choice of burger, poutine and wings for £14.

Parcel Yard

Heading out for a bite with mates or on your way back from watching Tigers? The Parcel Yard is offering any burger from their menu plus your choice of any beer for £15. Running all week.

Vegan

Prana

100% vegan cafe Prana has a fixed price menu for £20 available all week, featuring some of their menu favourites including the return of their hugely popular vegetable lasagne.

Herb

Enjoy the aromatic spices from the region of Kerala in a purely vegetarian and vegan setting at Herb. Their fixed price £20 menu includes any starter, any main, any dessert and glass of Lassi.
