De Montfort University is hosting an open lecture on Racism and Inclusivity in Sport next month and they’ll be welcoming Liverpool and England legend, John Barnes, as part of the event.

This lecture, which is being delivered in partnership with DMUsport and DMU for Life, will take place at The Venue at DMU and will be followed by a Q&A from John Barnes MBE.

Barnes is an instantly recognisable former professional footballer and manager who won 79 caps for England in the 1980s and 1990s. He has been an outspoken advocate for greater inclusion in sport, and earlier this year appeared on Question Time to comment on racism and discrimination in sport and wider society.

The event is free to attend and takes place on Tuesday 8 October from 5.30pm – 7pm. Book your free spaces via the booking form.
