As the country adapts to lockdown we’ve seen a number of businesses change their set-up to offer people more options from home. One of those is JB Kitchen, set up by professional chef Jordan Brady.
JB Kitchen offer restaurant quality meals direct to your door, delivering across Leicester and Loughborough. From Sunday roast to beef wellington, it’s a perfect option when treating yourself to a night off cooking.
Having already amassed over 60 5* reviews on Facebook for their high quality dishes, we caught up with Jordan to find out more about it.
What inspired you to set up JB Kitchen?
I was looking for something to do during lockdown, something where I could use my skills but also help other people. I noticed that a lot of people were saying they were ‘fed up of cooking’ or simply couldn’t get out to get supplies so we set up a satellite kitchen and started putting pen to paper, figuring out menus and how we could make the food work. I have taken inspiration from the places I have worked throughout my career so far, coming up with dishes that are of a restaurant quality but can be heated up or cooked at home.
How has the response been so far?
Amazing! Everyone has been so positive and friendly. We have received great reviews, we’re at over 60 x 5* reviews so far – all of the hard work is worth it!
What are some of your favourite dishes that you’ve done?
The Beef Wellingtons are proving very popular but for me, my favourite dishes to make would have to be the Rack of Lamb or the Vegan Spiced Tomato and Chickpea Pie, simply because of the flavours.
How large is your delivery area?
We’re happy to cover most of Leicester and Loughborough although there is be a delivery fee for anything over 3 miles.
Do you have any lockdown cooking tips for people at home?
Buy local as the quality is generally better and you’re supporting those smaller business and try new things. People generally have more time at the minute so don’t be afraid to try new things and be creative!
Will you continue with JB Kitchen post-lockdown?
We would LOVE to – it would be nice to be in a position to do so.
You change the menu weekly, what’s the best way for people to find out what’s on offer and do they need to order in advance?
Keep updated on our facebook page and Instagram as we post the menu and specials on there weekly. If people don’t have these media pages, we are more than happy to email the menu across or just give us a ring.
You can order for same day delivery but need to bear in mind that everything is made fresh so it won’t be an instant delivery.
