Now open in the city centre, Amrut is Leicester’s newest Indian fine dining spot. Located on Churchgate, the restaurant seeks to reinvent Indian fine dining, with a menu that is crafted from heirloom recipes that have been passed down through generations.

Amrut’s owners are looking forward to welcoming customers to enjoy ‘India on a plate’ at Amrut.

A lot of time has been taken on the interior design of the venue, which offers a sumptuous and luxurious feel. Importantly there is a menu to match that style.

Opening with Nibbles start your dining experience with iconic street food delights, from the crispy, spice-infused Pani Puri to the soul-warming Samosa Chaat. Classics like Chilli Paneer and Chatakdar Gobhi Manchurian showcase the depth of Indian spices, perfectly balancing heat, tang, and zest.

The Small Plates offer a journey into India’s culinary artistry. In the vegetarian offerings, dishes like the Herbaceous Chaap, marinated with earthy greens, and the exotic Beetroot Aloo Bukhara Tikki highlight the richness of fresh, local ingredients. The non-veg options, such as the succulent Chicken Tikka and aromatic Garlic Lamb Chops, are steeped in time-honoured marination techniques and fired in traditional clay ovens for an unforgettable experience.

The Mains are where Indian culinary mastery shines brightest. Double Tadka Dal and Paneer Makhani are elevated comfort food, slow-cooked with deep, soulful flavours. Non-veg mains include the legendary Butter Chicken and Lamb Rogan Josh bringing the heart of Indian cooking to life.

Accompany these with fragrant Biryani or freshly prepared Indian breads like Butter Naan and Mint Laccha Paratha, each bite a tribute to the art of layering spices and textures.

Desserts provide a perfect finale to this culinary voyage. Savor the indulgent sweetness of Gulab Jamun, or dive into the decadent fusion of flavors in the Double Decker Shahi Tudka.

“Our menu is more than just food – it’s a journey through the heart of Indian cuisine, where every dish tells a story of heritage, flavour, and unmatched passion for tradition.”

The owners commented, “We want to take Amrut to that level. It’s our baby and we have to nurture it and see it grow. We will make it happen – we’re going to make sure that it works. We’ll need a lot of support and touch wood we have people who are giving us that, together with a lot of love here in Leicester.”
