Another of our city’s finest events is coming up this weekend as Handmade Festival returns to Leicester’s O2 Academy on 29 and 30 April. Plus this year they’re returning back to the city venues where it all started for a Friday night programme across some of our best independent venues. Venues forming part of the Friday night programme include Firebug, The Cookie, The Guildhall and Bishop Street Church, as well as pop up performances at Canteen at the LCB Depot (also this year’s Friday wristband exchange point)

So, onto the lineup, which this year is better than ever, just feast your eyes over this…

Twin Atlantic, Frightened Rabbit, British Sea Power, Pulled Apart By Horses, Honeyblood, JAWS, Muncie Girls, Tigercub, Puppy, Idles, Cabbage, Superfood, Demob Happy, God Damn, Kagoule, Gallops, Ash Mammal, Kermes, God Damn, Dead!, Fizzy Blood, Shame, Fish, Van Zeller, Happyness, Life, Willie J Healy, Charlotte Carpenter, Magique, Arcades, Get Inuit, Meatwave, Youth Man, Ohboy!, Happy Accidents, Yr Poetry, Waking Aida, Orchards, Dark Dark Horse, Soeur and The Lids

Handmade is a truly independent festival and has always supported local artists, but it’s been wonderful to see how the event has grown over the past few years. To add to that, this year Handmade Festival have also announced that PPL and PRS For Music, ahead of the launch of their joint licensing venture in Leicester later this year, will be sponsoring the second stage at the festival, which features headline appearances from Cabbage, Demob Happy, Jaws and Superfood. Put this alongside their partnerships with Big Scary Monsters and Alcopop Records and it’s an exciting time for the organisers, and of course for music fans in Leicester.

Limited tickets to Handmade Festival are still available priced at £40 for adults and for the first time the festival is able to offer tickets at £30 for students and £20 for under 16s. Friday night tickets are priced at £10 and give access to all venues.

Don’t miss out. Book your tickets via the Handmade Festival website.
